  Mike Abbott
Omega House President
 
Mike Abbott joined the Omega House Board of Directors in January 2006. He holds a BS degree in Biological Sciences and an MS in Business Administration, both from Michigan Tech. He currently serves as Director of Great Lakes Research Center Operations. Mike is the Vice Chair of the FinnFestUSA 2013 Executive Committee and a member of the Good Will Farm board of directors. He is also a former member of the Keweenaw Peninsula Chamber of Commerce board of directors. Father of five daughters and grandfather of five. Mike enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor activities.
   
 

 

Rev. Christine Bohnsack
Omega House Vice President

Christine joined the Omega House Board in 2005 and became the Vice President in February 2011.  A Houghton native, she graduated from Houghton High School and Albion College with a BA in English and French.  With her husband Bob, she left the Copper Country in 1967, returning in 1984 when Bob joined the faculty at Michigan Tech.  She became active in the Portage Lake Hospice organization serving as Patient Care Coordinator for seven years.  In 1992, she entered Garrett Evangelical Seminary in Evanston, IL to pursue a career as an ordained clergy in the United Methodist Church.  She served churches in Painesdale, Lake Linden, Laurium, Greenland, Rockland, and Ontonagon until her retirement in 2004.  Christine and her husband reside in Baraga County; they have three children and three grandsons.

   
 

 

Guy St. Germain
Omega House Treasurer

Guy joined the Omega House Board in 2009; he became Treasurer in February 2011.  He is the Health Officer and Executive Officer for the 5-county regional health department (Western UP Health Department).

   
 
  Cindy Griffin
Omega House Secretary

Cindy Griffin is the Patient Services Director at Aspirus Keweenaw Home Health & Hospice in Calumet where she has worked for the past 20 years. She is currently the Omega House Board Secretary and also serves as the Chair of the Operations Committee. Cindy received her Associates degree in Nursing in 1987 from Finlandia University (formerly Suomi College) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1999. She is certified in wound care and hospice and palliative care and has experience working in OB, ICU and Med-Surg in a hospital setting. Cindy is a member of the Finlandia University Advisory Committee for the Nursing Program. She resides in Bootjack.
   
 
  Brian Geshel
Omega House Past President
 
Brian grew up in the Copper Country, a Lake Linden native.  He earned his associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn and an associate's degree from Michigan Technological University
in Electrical Engineering Technology.  He has been a Respiratory Therapist for more than 20 years, employed first at Detroit area hospitals, then at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor prior to moving back
to the area where he manages Apria Healthcare's Upper Peninsula locations.
 
Brian is also involved in the clinical care of Apria's Homecare patients and has been named Branch Manager of the Year twice by Apria. Brian has served as an officer or board member with local organizations such as the Lake Linden-Hubbell Sportsman's Association, Willow Hall in Calumet, Torch Lake Public Action Council, and the Lake Linden-Hubbell School Board prior to serving on the Omega House Board.
