This September marks
the 10th anniversary of when the concept of
Omega House was first brought to light by
concerned citizens of the community. As the only
hospice home in the entire Upper Peninsula, we
are very lucky to be blessed with a house that
serves all who need palliative care regardless
of their ability to pay.
In
2008, Omega House served 49 residents and
provided 1,454 days of care. Currently the cost
to provide one day of care is $210 per resident.
Over half of those served at Omega House are
unable to pay the full cost resulting in over
$150,000 that must be funded by donors. This can
be an overwhelming task. But each year we are
supported by people like you who have given a
final gift of home to over 170 residents since
we opened the doors in 2005.
